Stop calling ME!

I started receiving calls from National Action Financial services about month ago. Its always a recorded message and there is very rarely even an option to talk to a representative. It just leaves a number to call. I finally got a hold of a representative and she said that she would take me off the calling list. They are still calling me. I am not this Donald Rose person they are looking for nor do I even know a person named that. I am sick of getting calls, sometimes a few times a day for a debt I don't owe after I wasted my minutes trying to get a hold of them and telling them to stop calling me. I am now just pissed. If they really wanted to collect on a debt they would go oh this isn't the person we are looking for lets use our energy and resources to find him, instead of continuing to call me.

National Action Financial Services-Won't Answer

They keep calling and leaving voicemails on my phone. The message isn't very clear nor does it say who they are calling about. It says to contact a person but you can't understand the name it gives. You can call back with the number they give you and it says waiting for a representive and then no one answers and it directs you to auto answer and allows you to leave a message. When it comes on though it says the users inbox is full and won't allow you to do anything what so ever. I owe a debt but I owed it after this company had been harrassing me for many months. I would just like them to stop or at least contact them to get a hold and see what it is about. Any direct numbers? I tried looking on the internet but couldn't find any direct number or even a website to contact.

Harrassment

National Action Financial has been calling me for ever a year. I have checked my credit report and their is no reason for them to call me. I have nothing against me that should be handled by some place attempting to collect a debt. I want this to stop! I can't get anyone when I call back. They are wasting minutes on my phone! Leave me alone! Can anyone enlighten me as to why I should be bothered by this place or even they have to call me if it is someone elses debt?!?! I want to see this stop!

they call here repeatedly everyday. we are on the do not call list.

you talk to a rep they hang up as soon as you start saying you dont want calls. so today i got a bunch of info from girl then went off.

course she hung up. we dont even own credit cards because we actually like our credit.

Guest

I have had my run ins with this company what you can do is ask them for a verification of debt from the original creditor. It may be a situation that you may have over looked a past debt or previous calls from the original creditor.

Annoying phone calls for no reason whatsoever.

I received a discharge from bankruptcy almost a year ago. Currently, I have no debts. Interestingly enough, these fools only started calling a couple of months ago. I know, we're suppose to tremble in our boots when the authoritative voice summons us to call this company back, but since nobody's name is mentioned, and neither is any particular debt, it's like a fly buzzing around one's head – bothersome, but not life-threatening. So why should I call back? I have read numerous accounts of people who did, and were screamed at, insulted, threatened, and worse. But what can you expect from a company owned by a unethical, greedy wog?

Told me to shut up

This company has been calling me for 2 months with an automated system that will not let me talk to any one. I have to waste my minutes calling them back and when i do they are rude. The most recent time 06/08/2010 at 2:55pm I was called by them and immediatly called back to talk to someone. I told the person who answered the phone and then was transfered to a person that said he was a manager and did not give his name. I told him they had been calling me for 3 months and the calls needed to stop or I would sue. Then he said you need to shut up and listen because the adults are talking. I told him I was more of an adult than he would ever be. I did not see him in Iraq fighting a war, he was the scared little *** harrassing innocent soldiers like my self.

Wow, they told me to shut up also. When I asked if this call was being recorded, he said yes, I then asked if he jut told me to shut up and he replied "yes" and hung up on me.

Jokers, they are not even looking for me, but start calling all over again every 3 months, promising they will never call again because they are removing my number, yet, 3 months later it starts again.

Repeated phone calls

This company has been calling my number relentlessly for a year now. I do not owe the debt and cannot get a customer service representative when I call to correct this. The debt is $37.00 on a Block Buster account. I recently had surgery and have been requiring extensive rest to recover. These phone calls have been interupting my sleep every morning and I am fed up with the harrassment. I can't turn my phone off because I have children in school who may need me. What can I do to get in touch with them and make them stop?

This company has had my number for over a year!! They call with an automated voice and have never stated to whom they wish to speak.

After the first two months of daily (excluding Sunday)calls, I returned the call. I refused to give my name and demanded to know who they wanted to speak to at my number. She told me a name I have never heard of and then promised me that she would remove my number.... Approximately three months later the daily calls started again.

Again after weeks of harrassing calls, I returned the call. This time the person at N.A.F.S. actually told me that I should have called them sooner to have my number removed!!! Approximately 3 weeks ago the calls started again....

Today I called and was hung up on twice. The third time I called the "representative" screamed at the that he had removed the number.... They keep calling for the same non-existant person!!

I am confident that there is legal recourse for their consistant harrassment. I understand debt collection is sometimes necessary, but can they really continuously call and attempt to collect from the wrong people??

Guest

I figured out how to get in touch with one of scam reps at National Action Financial Services. Since they do not offer a "speak to an operator option" select one of the payment methods.

When prompted to enter your bank or credit card information just enter random numbers. After two times of entering incorrect numbers you will get transferred to an operator.

Of course they want to "help" you at this point. Once they answer simply instruct them to remove your name from their call list.

Guest

I am having the same problem with this company. My voicemail has a couple of recorded messages from Daniel Lynch each day.

Today, I deceided to return the call. After being transferred twice, I asked who were they attempting to reach and to my surprise the guy refused to tell me and hung up before I could get any information. Having worked in colletions for several years, I know that if you don't ask for someone by name you will never never make contact.

I am making a complaint with the FTC regarding the harrassing phone calls. :?

NAFS calls us constantly, and we aren't even the debtor!

NAFS has called us unrelentingly for almost a year and we are not even the person in question, nor have we ever heard of her. I called NAFS a few months ago, and they promised to stop the harassing phone calls, but, they have not. Now when I call the number they leave, I only get a recording telling me how to pay this $15.48 Blockbuster debt, and I can find no way to contact them or talk to a live person. Their loyal employee is all up in arms about how ethical they are, and how they just contact debtors. They why won't they even stop harassing a wrong number or even provide a way to contact them. If anyone can figure out a way to stop NAFS's harassment without having to change out phone number, I would sincerely appreciate the help or any ideas (hey, that means one too Mr. NAFS employee. Here's your chance to prove that your company is not as evil as all the internet traffic suggests). Sincerely, NOT 'Shallace Cazarian!' but Harmony Get your facts straight NAFS!

What they are doing is actually illegal. If they are constantly calling you and the debt isn't yours, you actually have quite a few ways to not only force them to stop, but maybe even collect financial compensation.

The following two methods worked for me when I had a similar situation last year:

1. if you are not all ready, get your phone number on the FCC's telemarketer do not call list over at www.fcc.gov. then if they keep calling, file a complaint with the FCC.

2. find out their legal mailing address and send them a letter via certified mail saying the debt is not yours and they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by continuing to call you about a debt which isn't yours, and if they call you again to attempt to collect this debt or sell it to another collector who does, you will be suing them to the full extent of the law under the Fair debt collection practices act for every future phone call you receive. Also say in your letter that any future calls to your number will be considered harassment and you will be pressing charges with the local police department if they call you again.

This helped me, it will help you as well.

Good luck!

This company is a scam!

I owe NO money but they are trying to collect debt and are harrassing me! I am tired of the endless calls and needless harrassment. I will find a way to get their license, if they have one, revoked. They are clearly a scamming company trying to take advantage of people by getting them to give personal information and then stealing money and identities. Since I have to go to 100 words to satisfy this pissed off customer site, though there is nothing more to be said, I will continue to say that this company, National Action Financial Services is a SCAM!!!!!!

Who are these people?

Over the past two weeks I've received about ten calls from a computer telling me it's been programmed to call on behalf of National Action Financial Services. I have never heard of this company, and apparently my only options are to press "1" to pay the balance or to press "*" to hear my options again. If I owe someone money, I'd be happy to pay. The balance is only about $16; but the principal that someone could extort any sum, no matter how trivial, through these tactics is appalling to me. Can someone provide me a phone number to talk with an actual human being at this company?

Fraudulant letter from National Action Financial Services INC

Got a letter stating that I owed $4013.21 to Bank of America. Here's the problem my Bank of America card was payed in full in March. There were 3 differnet phone numbers on the letter none of which were answered. And the only number that got me to a voicemail wouldn't alow me to leave a voicemail because the maibox was full. They claim their office hours are M-F 8am-4 and Sat 8-12. There is not a single name for the NAFS on the letter. Bank of America says that they owe us money. How the *** does this happen. I know that I am not the only one who has questions. As I have seen several people complain about the business practices of this 'debt collection company' I think it is absolutely appalling that they can do this. How do I go about seeking legal action against them for fraud. Please help I want them to pay me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work collections, and used to, in fact work at NAFS. You are looking for them to pay you?

For what? Its as simple as, the acct having been x-ferd to their office cuz BOA hadnt recvd notification about your payment or settlement yet.

If you have a letter from BOA or a collection agency, stating that the acct in question has been paid, they will dismiss it altogether. I sincerely doubt theres any "fraud" involved in this, and unfortunately, you probably have no grounds for a suit whatsoever.

besmart

NAFS... they are all smarter then you

Primarily, I would like to state NAFS is a collections agency. This means the people being called are no longer customers they are debtors who signed a contract stating they would pay something back. Are you people seriously so dillusional you think you need to be treated with respect. Also, I'm fairly certain the fdcpa states you can and are able to call a persons home phone, work phone, and any phone associated with them (cell phone) one time per day. That is an actual contact... for your information that means if they call and dont leave a message or dont speak with you or another individual at what ever number they are calling they can call you again. So why don't every one of you on here "b*tch*ng" realize that, in fact, the statement made by Zeebo above is correct. You are responsible for the financial crisis occuring in the economy and if a company is calling you every day based on phone numbers and information, provided for them or found, then deal with it. Seriously, if you "barrowed" 10 thousand from your family and just decided not to pay it back do you think they would be giving you the same courtesy you are suggesting and asking for? Take some responsability for you actions, quit complaining about the fact that your being called to pay back money you already spent, and maybe try reading the contracts your signing before getting a credit card or getting a vehicle loan. If you owed me $300, $3000, or $30,000 everyone the people on here would be sued already. So how about if you are that annoyed you actually pick up the phone, call back, and either pay your bill or tell them it's a wrong number and give the person on the other line a correct number (I'm fairly certain about 75% of the people getting called are a family number and know a number). If that person is willing to give your number why can't you give theirs? In essence, get over yourselves, know the laws if you are going to be complaining, and the most important take responsibilities for your own actions and pay back what you owe.

Are you kidding me "besmart"? If someone is calling me then "deal with it"?

They call me EVERYDAY for someone I don't know. Someone they were talking to gave them my phone number and the calls started. They are looking for Jason Chad. My name is not Jason Chad, nor has it ever been so.

My name nowhere near Jason Chad. I have told then this time after time but they keep calling because the other number they have is disconnected now. I am in the process of suing them.

This is how I AM DEALING WITH IT &$$wipe. Deal with that.

I have dealt with another debt collection agency in the past and was never treated the way that i was with NAFS!! They are horrible, and should be put out of business!!

i work for nafs. almost everyone on here is a debtor complaining about having to pay back the loans they took out. this crisis we are in is partly your fault. YOU are the sub prime market. the banks "banked" on peoples good intentions and you all skrewed them which is why you were sub prime in the first place. stop pointing fingers stop running away from your bills old or new and be a man(or woman) and take some responsibility for your actions. yes you had a reposesion it happens but you still owe the bank for the loan. pay them even if it is 50/m pay them

In regards to said collection agency NAFS, I myself personally can vouch that when dealing with such a large collection of defaulted accounts its very trying to ensure over 200,000+ accounts have accurate numbers on them. We collection agents are given numbers specifically linked to the debtor in one way or another via location previous addresses or what not, through our company and other information obtaining services information is entered poorly, or incorrectly, this is a human error and should only take the Curtice of calling in to correct us, in no means are we trying to pursue a career of harassing people who in all honesty we can relate to in terms of defaulted credit.

The caller Finnegan claimed that I owed a debt paid out from Chase on a student loan. I told him that I owed nothing. I did the research with Chase Financial student loans department, and they said they had no record of me ever owing anything to them. Chase told me the companies that they use for debt collections. I also, several years ago, contacted Bank One which Chase had bought out, and they had no such record of me owing anything nor did those that managed their student loans.

Probably most Banks use other companies to manage their student loans & will tell you those companies names. I followed up on those to see if they had my loan or sold to anyone else, and none had.

The guy on the phone of the so-called debt collections agency told me to ask Chase of a certain company's name that he got his claim from, but Chase stated that they don't use such service. All of my student loans were consolidated with Sallie Mae. Actually, I wonder how that scamming company ever got my new number which is through a broadband service. I think that someone on the inside of Chase may have sold my info to that guy. They even had called back to me my social security number, but I never owned up to it, I even shuffled around to avoid answering if the address was correct. I did once get a letter form this company via US mail. Any how you can report it on the National Do Not Call list, and FCC.GOV For those that don't know FCC is Federal Communications Commission. Some weeks later the FCC replied to me by mail when I reported some other solicitor's call in spanish. I didn't understand it & could have been the same as the one I'm complaining here about now.

With the thousands of complaints found on about fifty different forums we should have enough people for a class action lawsuit. Does anybody know of any class action lawsuits?

I am sick of them calling my phone number for a person that doesn't live here.

For every single call you get file a complaint with the Do Not Call List, the Federal Trade Commission and other organizations.

www.donotcall.gov

www.ftc.gov

Also file a complaint on one the many forums each time you get a phone call. This would make it easier for the lawyers to see how many complaints NAFS gets and make it easier for a class action lawsuit.

I like this comment from a previous poster that says. Even if I owed debt I wouldn't pay to these creeps.

NAFS or anyother debt collocter should not HARASS you to the point you do not want to pay the bill.

NAFS : Breakin the LAW

National action financial services, if they only knew who they were dealing with! I am a debt collector, not to shabby at it either. I have been told by many of the people I work with (debtors), thank you! I try my best to help people who are in bad situations. People are not bad because they are in debt, it happens to the best of us. They have been calling me upon a debt my spouse supposedly owes. They are the rudest, nasties *** ever!! I would never even think about treating people the way they do and not just because its against the law to do what they do but because its just not the way to treat people. Even the customers I call who scream at me and swear at me for no other reason than they are pissed I'm bothering them for a debt they owe. I understand, they may be in a bad place in their life and it sucks no way out no where to turn. These *** bags are the worst of the worst!! They tried to call and intimidate me threaten me call my spouse a lier and irresponsible, say they were going to sue if they didn't have their money in a few days. Well obviously I didn't have the money and was not going to pay they didn't even send a letter yet. And when asked to send proof they refused to mail it to me. Another thing that they did which is illegal, when asked for proof of debt they have 5 days to send it! Well its been about 10 days and they called back, leaving yet another nasty message on my answering machine thank you Mr. Roberts (a.k.a *** I'm going to have so much fun when I take them to court. Little do they know what I do for a living and that my job will also help me find a good lawyer! I feel REALLY bad for those who have fallen for these jerks, and that they don't know the laws for collections as well as I do. And thank God I do or i too may have fallen for their scare tactics.

Every time these jerks call file a complaint with the Do Not Call list, the federal trade commission, politicians or consumer action column in your local newspaper or TV station. A friend of mine was helped by a local TV station consumer action show to solve a dispute with a phone company.

www.donotcall.gov

NAFS has an (F) rating with the better business bureau and a huge number of lawsuits filed against them.

If you decide to call them which is a mistake then do not give out your social security number, credit card number or bank account number. If you have been suckered in to doing this them cancel your credit card or bank account immediately.

If they claim you owe debt make them send a letter in the mail and they probably won't send it because they probably can't prove the debt.

Guest

Call me again and I will find you and kill you.

Guest

Pissed off consumers? Consumers pay their bills, DEBTORS don't.

Plain and simple, pay your bills and you wont get calls. PERIOD. I am so sick of listening to people whine when THEY were the cause of the situation. The minimum payment on most of your credit cards is under $50.

Stop drinking, smoking or whatever else you waste money on and you would not be in this position. I for one am sick of paying higher interest rates on everything because some deadbeat ran up a credit card and didn't pay it.

Guest

Hate to say this, but if you're a debt collector, you're pretty ignorant on the law too. There is nothing stating they have to send you proof of the debt within 5 days.

Secondly, if you ask via the telephone, they really don't have to do anything. Check out your FDCPA training manual (you do have one, right). If you want proof of the debt, you have to put the request in writting. And while they don't have a time limit to respond, they can't collect during that time.

If they want to take 4 months getting proof, that's 4 months they can't collect.

Do it the right way and you'll have a good lawsuit. Do it the wrong way, well, you got nothing but a debt and a bad debt collector going unpunished.

Guest

9 times out of 10 the "debtor" does their best to run from their debts hoping that we will just allow it to fall off their credit report and they won't have to pay back what they charged up.

By no means am i saying that harassment by a collector is ok. But, understand what we deal with. Disconnected numbers, P.O Boxes, verified good addresses with no response to our demands for payment by mail. We as collectors have a job to do. That job is to find an arrangment you "the debtor" can work with. And, if we can't find you.. it is also our job to find someone who may have a way of getting a message to you.

Understand, it is not our job to get you to pay for something you obviously owe. It was YOUR JOB when you moved etc to give your new address to your creditors. Don't be upset because you have been found and now obviously we expect a reasonable resolution to your established debt.

Guest

Why are you complaining about something that you do everyday? Now that the shoe's on the other foot, you don't like it?

they keep calling my family members regarding my personal finacial situation. i am trying to do my best and it is hard right now. there are more times than not when i have to chose to pay a bill or buy a little groceries for myself. i work a full time job but it is really hard to pay rent let alone to keep up with utilities and then they have to add embarrassment on the list of things to deal with. my family does not need to know my dire financial status. i am single and have no one else to help support me so contacting them is going to accomplish nothing. you can not get blood out of stone!

You got yourself into the mess by agreeing to pay your credit card bills and then avoiding those obligations. The only people who feel sorry for you are the other deadbeats who don't pay their bills.

Clearly, you are willing to open up to strangers on the internet. Why don't you try talking to the people who control your credit?
